Background:
Appearances in the TAC Cup were few and far between for Ainger whose main focus was school footy for Scotch College. In the times he did play, he was either a key forward or key defender. Looked more suited down back and did spend more time down there given the Chargers already had a few taller forwards.
Unfortunately injury badly affected his draft camp results, while he still undertook many of the tests his results were a long way short of where they should be if he was 100% fit.
Strengths:
- Marking/Spoiling
- Height
Weaknesses:
- Limited TAC Cup exposure
- Extent of recent injury: effect on fitness?
Footy Draft verdict:
He’s probably a rookie list chance at best.
