State Screening Camp 2004
Strengths: One of the more interesting stories of 2004, Moran moved to Australia from Stratford in England less than two years ago. After trying rugby he was urged to play Aussie Rules and was spotted by Roger Merrett.
A huge kid, Moran stunned everyone when he ran 2.78 seconds in the 20m sprint at state screening camp to break the previous record. He is reportedly the best trainer in the Queensland squad and has been working very hard to improve his game. Moran also showed his ability by winning the Billy Hardy Medal for best afield in the AFLQ Reserves Grand Final.
Weaknesses: As you would expect of a kid who had never even seen a game until 2 years ago, he is very raw. Skills are OK but he gets lost very easily on the football field and has a lot to learn.
Footydraft.com comment: A 200cm player with his speed would have to be considered, but he is so raw a rookie list with the Lions might be his best chance.
