Details:
Club: Port Melbourne Colts/Western
DOB: 15 March 1987 Hgt: 182cm Wgt: 69kg
Position: Wing
Natural Foot: Right
Honours:
State Screening Tests 2004
Initial Vic Metro U18 squad 2005
TAC Stats:
2004: 11 games, 2 goals, avg 14.9 PPG
2005: 14 games, 3 goals, avg 22.9 PPG
Background: Brad is a skinny wingman and defender who missed a large portion of 2004 with osteitis pubis. He has good pace and is very good overhead for his size. He likes to carry the footy and can rack a lot of inside 50s. Tends to favour disposing the ball by foot although his kicking style is very awkward and could be exposed. Doesn't kick a lot of goals - in fact this year he was very inaccurate in front of goal
Strengths:
- pace
- overhead marking
- composure/decision making
Weaknesses:
- Lightly framed, would need a few years to develop
- Concerns over injuries, has had a few things go wrong in the last couple of seasons
- Kicking style/finishing in front of goal - he kicked 3.15 this season
Footydraft.com comment: Obviously was around the mark last year, having attended state screening. Not invited to the testing this year though. Like few of his Western Jets teammates, Sutcliffe is probably a more likely chance for a rookie list position this year.
