Stats:
2005 AFL U18 Championships: 3 games, 1 goal, averaged 22.7 PPG
Background:
Still bottom age, but a likely draftee this year. Suited across the half back line, he has the height of a key backman but the mobility of a midfielder. Represented Australia in the International Rules series in Ireland earlier this year, performing well. Was awarded the Harrison Medal for the best Division 2 player at this year’s U18 championship. Late in the season was named in the Devils VFL list of emergencies but did not make his VFL debut.
Strengths:
- Tall and mobile – the two don’t often go together
- Is a penetrating kick (but see below)
- Has had NTFL senior experience in Tasmania and was close to VFL selection this year
Weaknesses:
- Kicking doesn’t always hit the target
- Decision Making
- Outside type
Footydraft.com comment: Looks as though he will be drafted this year. Had an impressive championships - not many players at his height average about 23 possessions a game. Had a large number of clubs nominate him for the draft camp which indicates a high level of keenness. First Round selection, could be around the top 10.
