Position: Full Forward/Centre Half Back
Natural Foot: Right

South Australia 2004
State Screening Camp 2004
Strengths: McLeay is a strong full forward who is good on the lead but can also take some good marks one-on-one. He moves surprisingly well and is just as capable of kicking a goal from a snap as he is from a set shot.
James leads well and can also go back to defence if required, having played centre-half back in the SANFL already. Gets in front of his opponent and always looks like kicking goals.
Weaknesses: Already pretty developed physically, so might not have as much scope for improvement. Not terribly quick, and his set shot kicking is a real mixed bag.
Footydraft.com comment: To be honest I was surprised James wasn't invited to draft camp. He has been very good in every game I've watched him play, and strong marking forwards aren't exactly easy to find. Providing he can work on his athleticism he might be a surprise packet.
