Statistics:
2005 TAC Cup Morrish Medal: 4 votes
2005 TAC Cup: Coaches Award: 20 votes

Background:
Also a talented cricket, Crook captained Victoria's under 17 side in the Australian championships during January this year. Put his cricket ambitions on hold to pursue an AFL career. His strong polling in the Coaches Award plus his win in the Falcons best and fairest reflects that his own coach and opposition TAC Coaches had a good opinion of him this season. Consistently had over 20 touches a game this year, although his form dropped slightly towards the last 8 weeks of the season (down on average about 4 possessions a game). Overlooked for Vic Country selection in this year’s championships.

Strengths:
- keeps his feet and stands up in tackles

Weaknesses:
- Enough stand out attributes?
- Didn’t have a great draft camp

Footy Draft verdict:
Probably the sort of player who could appeal to a club wanting a tough, nuggety type of player without much of the flashy stuff. Not the sort who would appeal to everyone but a few clubs would probably have earmarked him as one who could play that small defensive/on baller role at AFL level.
