Club: Warrack Eagles/North Ballarat
DOB: 23 November 1986 Hgt: 189cm Wgt: 74kg
Position: Onballer/Wing
Natural Foot: Right
Honours:
Victoria Country 2004
Wing in TAC Cup Team of the Year 2004
National Draft Camp 2004
TAC Stats:
2003: 19 games, 6 goals, 15.1 PPG
2004: 15 games, 5 goals, 24.4 PPG
Strengths: Matt is a tallish midfielder who is a very efficient player. There is nothing spectacular about the way he plays, but he uses the football well when he gets it.
Rosa spent most of 2003 on the wing, but after putting on some weight he was used as an onballer by the Rebels in 2004. He is a nice set shot for goal, and was used up forward in bursts during the carnival. Rosa's form has been very consistent in the TAC Cup and he has excellent endurance.
Weaknesses: Can go short with a lot of his kicks, and definitely needs to put on some more weight. Doesn't kick as many goals as he perhaps should.
Footydraft.com comment: Late in the draft clubs can either gamble on a raw kid, or take a solid performer. Rosa hasn't done a lot wrong and should be considered to add to midfield depth.
