Queensland U18 2005
AFL Draft Camp 2005
TAC Stats:
2005 U18 National Championships: 1 game, 0 goals, average 2.0 PPG
Draft Camp:
Vertical Jump: 68cm (equal 4th)
20m sprint: 2.92 sec (equal 3rd)
Background:
Queensland state under 18 representative this year and draft camp attendee. Championships week was really a non-event, aside from a few hitouts he had only two possessions in his solitary game.
A talented high jumper who was ranked No 1 in Australia and among the best juniors in the world, Roffey turned down the chance to further his athletics career in an attempt to set up a career for himself in the AFL.
Played some senior footy in the AFLQ this year for Mt Gravatt and that, along with some impressive results are the key to whether his name will be called out in the National Draft.
Strengths:
- Athletics background: strong sprinter and jump for his height
- Upside/room to improve
Weaknesses:
- Tested poorly in the endurance tests at draft camp
- Lack of exposure in the championships
Footydraft.com comment:
Would think a late draft pick at best, but perhaps more likely towards the Lions as a local based rookie.
