Background:
One of the Western Jets better players this season, the bottom aged Lyons was given the opportunity to play in a variety of different roles. Having begun the season at half back, as the season progressed he was given more opportunities in the midfield, and regularly accumulated more than 20 possessions a game. His best attribute is his terrific breakaway speed, which often saw him burn opponents off. Needs to add some weight and become a more physical player.

Strengths:
- Speed, very quick, capable of arching the back and has the pace to accelerate away.
- Good vertical leap
- Set shot kick is good

Weaknesses:
- Light frame, tends to play an outside game
- kicking on the run - doesn’t steady enough.
- what position is he suited to? Probably not a centreman at the next level.

Footydraft.com comment: Probably tends to be a bit of an outside player, so given his height he may need to wait another year before AFL clubs show a lot of interest. Too young to be rookie listed.
