Details:
Club: Beaconsfield/Gippsland/Williamstown VFL
DOB: 17 April 1986 Hgt: 195cm Wgt: 80kg
Position: Ruck
Natural Foot: Left
Honours:
Victoria Country U18 2003 (Emergency)
State Screening Camp 2004
TAC Stats:
2003: 16 games, 8 goals, 9.8 PPG
2004: 20 games, 13 goals, 10.3 PPG
Background:
Played TAC Cup with Gippsland Power in 2003 and 2004 and after failed to be drafted at the end of last year he decided to try his luck at Williamstown in the VFL this season. Started the year in the reserves but worked his way into the VFL seniors and impressed many opposition clubs with his ruckwork against AFL listed players. Had qualified for VFL reserves finals, and was part of Williamstown’s VFL Reserves premiership side playing a role in defence – showing another dimension to his game.
Strengths:
Is capable of taking a pack mark and kicking a few goals, and is also more than handy in the ruck, knows how to tap the ball. Also has good pace for his size.
Weaknesses:
Probably too small for ruck and not mobile enough for a key position. Can look good in patches then go missing for large periods. Struggles below knee level. Has been overlooked in 2003 and 2004.
Footydraft.com comment: A club might punt on him for a rookie list.
