Background:
Queensland state under-18 captain at this year’s National Championships, the story of Mills moving with his mother from Northern NSW to Brisbane and living in a caravan for a couple of months to make it easier to train with Queensland’s state underage team shows the commitment he has in aspiring to an AFL career. His abilities in athletics and rugby union show in the way he plays Aussie Rules, but with All Australian honours in this year’s championships, plus senior footy for Southport this season and an impressive list of top ten results at draft camp he’s more than likely set himself up for an AFL career.

Strengths:
- Reads the ball exceptionally well across half back for marking and close wearing of his opponent
- Size is perfect for an AFL centre half back
- Bang and crash/courage
- Draft camp results
- Leadership ability
- Senior footy for Southport this season in defence

Weaknesses:
- Occasionally a strange kicking action

Footydraft.com comment:
Potential AFL centre half back who appears a strong draft chance. A club desperate for a key backman might bite early.
